A few things about me
Born in Athens, Greece in 1977 and raised mostly on Myconos island, I am a freelance translator from English and Spanish into to Greek. I have been living and working in Madrid, Spain, since 2003.
After acquiring a background in Classics, Philosophy & Social Sciences through my university studies, I discovered that translation combines all the elements I consider motivating: language, cross-cultural communication, research and resourcefulness.
"To imagine a language is to imagine a form of life", L. Wittgenstein once pointed out. To me, this is what translation is about: translating a piece of text means translating a fragment of a whole form of life, a task that goes well beyond grammatical and syntactical categories.
Nowadays, I regularly work on Marketing & Transcreation for tourism, fashion, apps, websites, as well as user manuals and Humanities translations.
